Spring Break at the Birmingham Zoo

March 25 - April 2
There is no better place to spend your Spring Break than the Birmingham Zoo! Seasonal favorites such as Predator Zone, Children's Zoo Splash Pads, Schaeffer Eye Center Wildlife Shows and more are back just in time for the warmer weather. Soak up the sun and pay a visit to your favorite Zoo animals this Spring Break at the Birmingham Zoo.

World Water Day

March 25, 10am-2pm
World Water Day began in 1992 when it was established in a United Nations Conference. It is a day that aims to bring awareness to water conservation issues that are currently occuring. Enjoy a day of learning, fun and activities at the Zoo.

Farm Day

April 8, 10am-2pm
Take a look at Alabama’s agricultural heritage with a fun and educational peek into daily farm life during this annual event in the Junior League of Birmingham – Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo. Farm Day features a variety of activities and booths to educate the public about Alabama’s rural and agricultural heritage. Watch a sheep shearing, goat demonstrations and more as you enjoy an antique tractor display provided by the local chapter of Alabama Harvesters, live music and local artists from around the Birmingham area. This event is free for members and included in general admission.
10am-2pm: Interactive booths, Birmingham Fiber Guild and more through the Children’s Zoo and barn
10am: Goat training demonstration in the corral
11am-1pm: Contact yard in the corral

Gopher Tortoise Day

April 8, 10am-2pm
You’re invited to join us for Gopher Tortoise Day as we work to raise awareness of the endangered Gopher Tortoise in Alabama. The Birmingham Zoo has partnered with the Alabama Department of Natural Resources for this fun and educational day. Come out for special activities, keeper chats, and even meet a Gopher Tortoise! Guests will be able to see live animal demonstrations and encounters, ornament painting, coloring pages and nature play activities. This event is free for members and included in general admission.

Breakfast with the Bunny

April 15, 7:30am-10am
The Easter Bunny is coming to the Birmingham Zoo for breakfast at 7:30am and 9am on Saturday, April 15! Make your reservations now for this event before it sells out. Enjoy a scrumptious scrambled egg and sausage breakfast with orange juice and coffee at the Kudzoo Café followed by a visit from the Easter Bunny! All children receive a special treat upon arrival and can enjoy making a craft. Event price covers Zoo admission for the day, Unlimited Ride Wristband, breakfast, activities and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Following breakfast be sure to join us for the first Eggstravaganza Hunt!

Eggstravaganza - Birmingham's Largest Easter Egg Hunt

April 15, 10am-2pm
Hop on over to Birmingham’s biggest Easter Egg Hunt – Eggstravaganza at the Birmingham Zoo! Join the Easter Bunny and his friends during this rain or shine event that is sure to be fun for the whole family! The children’s egg hunts are free for members and included in admission for non-members. The Adult egg hunt is $20 to enter, but participants are guaranteed a prize valued at $50 or more! Adult egg hunt has limited spots.
Egg Hunt Schedule:
10am-10:30am – Ages 0-5
11am-11:30am – Ages 6-12
11:45am – Adult egg hunt ($20 entry fee)
12:30pm-1pm – Ages 0-5
1:30 – 2pm – Ages 6-12
*All eggs are empty. For children’s hunts, collect 10 eggs and turn them in at the redemption station for your prizes. For adult hunt, select one egg with a number to find out your prize (valued at $50 or more!)

Tails in the Trails

April 28, 6:30-10:30pm
Tickets are on sale now for Tails in the Trails 2017 presented by the Birmingham Zoo Junior Board. On Friday, April 28 from 6:30-10:30pm, enjoy food by Happy Catering Company, a cash bar featuring Cathead Vodka, a silent auction and live music by Gentleman Zero. This 21 and up event is one you won't want to miss. Early bird tickets are $20 until March 31, $25 April 1-28 and $30 at the door. Tails in the Trails is a casual attire event.

Zoo, Brews and Full Moon Bar-B-Que

June 17, 5:30-8:30pm
Join the Birmingham Zoo on Saturday, June 17 from 5:30-8:30pm as we kick-off the third annual Zoo, Brews and Full Moon Bar-B-Que event at the Birmingham Zoo! Craft beer fans will love the selection of tastings from some of the finest specialty brews around. Enjoy samplings from over a dozen breweries from all over Alabama and the southeast.

Purchase early and save – Adults 21 and up receive discounted ticket prices when purchased before April 17!
